Goal $12,460 • Raised $9,550 (2018)
The Shambhala Office of Families and Children, a new office within the Shambhala Office of Culture and Decorum, is dedicated to holding the view for families and children in the Shambhala Mandala. The Office arose as a direct result of the Growing Brave Conference when members of the Growing Brave Committee were empowered by the Kalapa Council to continue their work in an official capacity. Those committee members now serve as the Shambhala Office of Families and Children Leadership Council.
Our goal is to grow the view and culture of families within Shambhala by overseeing the development of curricula, training, programming, coordination, communications, and other resources needed to bring that goal to fruition. We are asking the Shambhala Trust for a start-up grant to cover our pivotal first year of operations: a dedicated part-time paid leadership position for the Council Chair and basic operating expenses. When children are supported in connecting with basic goodness from a young age, they grow up to be more kind, compassionate, and sane humans. When parents are supported in the path of parenting, they are able to offer sanity and wisdom to their children and further contribute to the health of human society. The benefits of such work are immeasurable and include the flourishing of the Shambhala Lineage and the deep goodness of human society.
