North American People of Color Scholarship

north-am-pocGoal: $10,000 • Funded: $4,500

(2007) Shambhala’s North American People of Color Scholarship Fund is creating an endowment to provide tuition assistance to People of Color who aspire to become teachers and leaders in the Shambhala tradition.

The mission of the Scholarship Fund is to support Shambhala’s aspirations to develop a more diverse and inclusive sangha.  The strategy is to provide financial assistance to People of Color on the Shambhala Buddhist path who want to attend programs that will enable them to contribute more fully to Shambhala society and help others who come to the path with similar backgrounds and experiences.
