Mandala Wide Right Use of Power Training
Shambhala Global Services is focusing on how to bring about cultural change within our Shambhala community by introducing new policies around Care and Conduct, while at the same time we support our community in addressing important issues around harm and healing. Part of this effort is to focus on understanding issues that come from power dynamics and how they contribute to a culture of caring when best understood and practiced.
Shambhala is collaborating with a proven expert, Dr. Cedar Barstow, who has decades of experience in identifying issues with authority in organizations and how to effectively train leaders to be more sensitive, responsible, and aware. Dr. Barstow is teaming up with Susan Skjei, an Acharya and organizational consultant, and Tara Templin, the Director of Community Care and Conduct, to deliver a module-based Right Use of Power Training that will be offered through Shambhala Online.
The training will begin with leaders ready and willing to complete the training with the goal to require it for all persons in authority in Shambhala. The training is intended for the whole Shambhala mandala and will be captioned in five different languages following an initial launch in English.
