(2013) Renovation of the kitchen to ensure safe food preparation, storage and service facility, which is essential for SMC in order to continue offering programs. At this point the temporary solutions are not an option.
This repair includes the kitchen roof, the dish room floor retiled, two hoods that expel hot air and grease and bring in cool air are in need of maintenance along with plumbing modifications and repair or replacement of interior ceiling, swinging doors and wallboards. SMC’s kitchen and dish room are used daily to provide food for participants. Currently the kitchen and dish room facilities are open, contingent upon bringing the facilities up to code. Without the ability to feed guests and clean dishes in the downtown area, the ability to host participants would drastically decrease. While no new revenue would be created, the essential revenue from participants and visitors would be maintained.
