(2014) The derelict site where Prajna, the previous residence of the Sakyongs at Shambhala Mountain Center, used to stand is to become an outdoor site of pilgrimage and contemplation.
First the site must be cleared of debris and cleaned up, before landscaping and the placement of simple benches and a covered seating area. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche’s request is that the site be transformed into an outdoor practice space, and to honor the blessings that have been received at that site from both Sakyongs. The site would also be available for teachings in good weather. The Sakyong has also indicated that in the future a stupa (approx. 20 feet) should be built on the site to work with the energetics of Shambhala Mountain Center.
