Snake River: Prison Meditation Group

Goal $2430 • Raised $2430

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

(2016) To provide funds for director travel, Acharya honorarium, and texts for a Meditation Intensive for the Snake River Shambhala Meditation Group in June 2016. The Intensive will include a Refuge Vow ceremony.

The Snake River Shambhala Meditation Group operates inside the Snake River Correctional Institution. The group has 45 members and is led by Chaplain Trime Persinger. Members of this group are not able to travel to programs for obvious reasons; bi-annual meditation intensives provide their only opportunity for retreat experience.

The two previous meditation intensives have had a significant impact on the individual inmates, on the group, and on the prison as a whole.
