The Reciprocity Foundation – Homeless Youth in NYC

reciprocity-2011Goal: $12,200 • Funded: $14,050

(2011) To teach meditation and principles of Shambhala Buddhism to homeless/high risk youth aged 16 – 22 living in homeless shelters in NYC.

This is a comprehensive program that begins with outreach in New York City’s key shelters and drop-in centers. Homeless and high-risk youth enroll in the Reciprocity programs once they are ready to make a change in their lives. Shelters focus on providing beds while Reciprocity focuses on helping youth transform their lives so they can fully realize their potential.
