Goal $6,400 • Raised $5,000 (2018)
Purpose – To address the negative effects of political polarization in the United States, beginning with a pilot program in northeast Vermont and northern New Hampshire.
Approach – A group of interested community members and Shambhala center leaders will be trained in Transformative Dialogue, a methodology for facilitating dialogue that is based on the transformative theory of conflict. Over the next year, these trained individuals then will invite and host gatherings of community members representing a wide cross-section of political perspectives to engage in transformative dialogue.
Intended Outcome – This project will deepen understanding and respect across political and socio-economic divides in the target communities by building capacity to engage in conversations among people of diverse views and background.
